Invitation to the Seminar

On behalf of the organizing committee, we take great pleasure in inviting you to attend this year’s MIFT Seminar in Sarawak, with the theme “Trends and Prospects in Food Manufacturing”. In light of the newly announced Ninth Malaysia Plan (9MP), manufacturers, researchers and entreprenaurs should take this opportunity to explore how Sarawak’s food sector can achieve a bigger contribution to the country’s economy. This Seminar, the third yearly seminar organized by MIFT and the Department of Agriculture Sarawak, looks into the potential areas that food entrepreneurs in Sarawak can venture in, as well as presents updates on the existing issues in the food manufacturing sector.

 

The Seminar will address a range of topics, including potential in dairy and “health” products, investment incentives, certification and regulation updates, organic food, traceability and distribution challenges, and the issues of Vibrio in frozen prawn. 

 

  
 Seminar Objectives

-          Identify and address possible food manufacturing sector that can be developed in Sarawak;

-          Updates on the food regulations and other requirements;

-          Provide a forum for discussion and planning on the opportunities for growth in the food sector.

 

The Seminar will be conducted in English.
